After 4 rounds I reached the final of the County Ann Bryant Knockout- this was played today at Bradfield college. If you’ve not played there before it is a delightful course. 9 holes played twice off different tees. Strategically placed ditches in lovely quiet countryside. They do a lovely afternoon tee.
Those who played yesterday will know how shocking the forecast was today . Thunder and rain was forecast but although there were a few grumbles from above thankfully this was in the distance and did not trouble us. It started to rain as we finished.
My opponent Ros Gurney and I were a bit nervous at first as we had an entourage with us: the president of Berks county, the organiser of the competition, a referee, last years winner and the captain of Bradfield GC.
I’m pleased to report another win for ELGC. When I received the trophy I noticed that this knockout was started back in 1957 so it is older than me!
