TOURNAMENT RULES
The Easthampstead Open shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as provided by the Royal and Ancient Club of St Andrew’s and any local rules at the time of the Competition.
The Open is 18 holes medal play and is limited to 124 players including guests and sponsors.
Coffee & bacon roll on arrival, complimentary snacks and drink at halfway with a meal after, followed by the presentation in the evening.
The overall winner will be the player returning the lowest net score. Other major prize winners will be the three lowest net scores in three ‘divisions’ which will be determined after the closing date. There will be a further major prize for the best gross score. There will also be other prizes for ‘nearest the pin’ on each of the par 3 holes, ‘nearest the pin in 2’ on one hole to be selected and the ‘longest drive’ for each of the three divisions to be selected and the best ‘visitors’ net score. No player may win more than one major prize.
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to alter or amend the Tournament Rules and prize structure and their decision on all matters shall be final.
ENTRY CONDITIONS
All entrants must be of amateur status as defined by the ‘R & A’ and a member of a recognised golf club within the English Golf Union. Entrants must be aged 18 or over on the day of the Competition and possess a valid active Handicap Index (27.5 Max*). This is a qualifying competition for handicaps. Those with no current Handicap Index (or exceeds 27.5) may be allowed to compete but cannot win any major prizes. Entrants must possess a valid and active handicap certificate under the current handicap system and evidence of current handicap must be produced on the day of the competition.
*Note: A Handicap Index of 27.5 produces a Playing Handicap of 28 on the Downshire Golf Course.
Should there be sufficient entries above Handicap Index 27.5 then a separate prize(s) will be introduced.
No refund of entry monies will be made after the draw for starting times on or after 29th June.
Tee times will be notified shortly after the draw has been made, and will also appear on our club website www.easthampsteadgolfclub.co.uk
Tournament Committee reserves the right to reject any entry or alter or amend the conditions of entry or tournament rules.
